Ridge Pharma Ltd (Ridge) is a privately owned UK pharmaceutical company specialising in the sales and marketing of branded prescription medicines for unmet needs. Ridge was incorporated in 2017 and launched its first product in 2019. Ridge is a small virtual company based in Theale, Reading.

Our Internship Programme
Our ten week paid summer internships offer students invaluable insight into the pharmaceutical industry and culture. Working with highly experienced professionals in a small enterprise will further your understanding of departmental responsibilities; you will be exposed to a wide range of learning opportunities, learning about the daily activities of a small growing pharmaceutical company, as well as the wider pharmaceutical industry. We will discuss your expected outcomes from the placement and will tailor the 3-month period to fit your desired career goals.
Our programme offers hybrid working (1/2 days in our Theale Head Office, and 3/4 days working from home per week). We also offer flexible start/finish dates to suit your needs.
What to expect
The benefit of working for a small company is that you will be exposed to every department in the business. We will offer training sessions with all business departments and allow you to gain experience in the following areas (we have listed some example tasks, but this is just a small example of the experience you will gain):
Sales and Marketing
- Creating and amending promotional materials to support sales activities across the NHS.
- Supporting with ad-hoc projects such as disease awareness education, prescription trends & clinical experts in primary and secondary care.
- Undertaking internet-based market research on NHS localities to support business proposals.
Quality Management
- Developing an understanding of the Quality Management System (QMS) including Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), deviations, corrective/preventative actions and change controls.
- Assisting with Product Quality Complaint (PQC) investigations.
Medical Information
- Responding to medical information enquiries from patients, customers and health care professionals (HCPs). This may involve communicating directly with the product manufacturer for further information.
- Creating informative training materials to help train Ridge employees on our products.
There will also be an opportunity to shadow and work with the Business Development team, who focus on identifying new products to add to the company’s product portfolio. You will be able to work with the company’s ESG Ambassadors to gain insight into NHS Net Zero requirements and what these mean for the pharmaceutical industry.

About you
· Currently completing an undergraduate degree at university (preferably a life science or marketing subject) and be on course to achieve a 2:1 (or above) in your degree.
· Competency on all MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
· Excellent written / verbal communication skills and a can-do attitude to new tasks.
· Good time management and organisational skills.
· Attention to detail.
· Strong team player that aligns with the Ridge Pharma company values.
