UK Firm Immigration Team International Business Travel (IBT) and International Remote Working (IRW) teams support PwC and our people in managing their cross border compliance risks including Immigration, Social Security, Tax (corporate and where applicable personal) and EU Posted Worker Directive alongside any other cross border compliance requirements. Compliance is at the core of what we do and due to the current geo-political climate these teams work in a fast paced, ever changing environment, with laws becoming increasingly restrictive. This role will support the Firm and our people to ensure compliance obligations are met while delivering the firm’s strategic mobility and commercial objectives. Programme These eleven-month placements are for students who need to complete a placement as part of their degree. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals on live and interesting projects. So you’ll get a good insight into working life at PwC. What you'll do Support our IBT population to complete their downstream compliance activities such as applying for visas or applying for A1 certificates. Work with various internal teams such as our people function, resourcing, recruitment and firm’s tax as well as our external Immigration, tax and social security advisors in Vialto to ensure processes and procedures are followed to meet our compliance obligations accurately. Drafting and issuing of visa invitation/support letters. Shared inbox management and responding to queries. Provide routine guidance to colleagues on immigration processes and legislation. Support the IRW team with initial assessment of the requests and issuing IRW approvals. Manage weekly return to the UK checks and escalations. Ensure IRW team’s shared drive is up to date. Adhere to each team’s processes and controls, spotting opportunities for efficiencies and simplification. Take part in ad hoc projects. What you'll need You'll need to have achieved or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study. You'll need to be a second year undergraduate university student on a four-year degree expecting to do a work placement in your third year. IT proficiency with excellent MS Excel (Google Sheets) and MS Powerpoint (Google Slides) skills in order to prepare regular reports that will be shared across the team and with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to ask questions and challenge ideas. An interest in developing data analysis skills to shape recommendations to the business. Ability to proactively manage own time, prioritise and maintain motivation when faced with a large number of tasks. An ability to work cohesively in a team as well as on individual projects. Assessment centres for this role will take place between 18 December 2023 - 28 January 2024 or 19 February - 4 March 2024. We expect to be able to give you at least a week's notice to attend.
