Job description
- To select and coach the Under 18 Youth squad in conjunction with the U18 IDP Coach and performance support staff.
- To provide appropriate playing opportunities for all squad players, trialists and young players in coordination with the appropriate staff.
- Monitor and assess the players in the Under 18 Squad in training and in match performances.
- To be part of the team of Elite Youth Coaches to develop a Player Development programme which maximises the opportunities for young players to reach their full potential across all age groups.
- Contribute to and take part in a programme of continuing professional development for the Elite Coaches group
- Contribute to the Scouting and Talent Identification process where appropriate.
- Undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
- Undertake administrative tasks related to the role, including fixture programming, record keeping and database input.
- Upload information to the Performance Management Application system for purposes of audit and in line with EPPP requirements. This relates to all session plans and evaluations as well as match feedback.
- Contribute appropriately to the development of teaching and coaching resources.
- Undertake pastoral and welfare duties in conjunction with the Head of Education and contribute to parent’s evenings, meetings and maintain relationships with parents, teachers and other appropriate persons.
- Provide feedback and information and contribute to the club player auditing process.
- Undertake other appropriate duties as directed by the FDSC management.
- Experience of working with U18 players within a category one environment.
- Has experience in an elite level football environment.
- UEFA A Coaching License
- The FA Advanced Youth Award
- Ability to build relationships with players assuring of confidence and trust.
- Strong collaborative leadership skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills, a team player.
- Excellent IT Skills and familiarity with scouting databases.
- Excellent organisational qualities.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines. The nature of the business means that there are significant variations in the level of activity; this requires the Job Holder to work whatever hours are needed to allow deadlines to be met.
