The Head of Logistics & Services Procurement delivers an end to end procurement service to the relevant stakeholders within the Area and Operation Centre and will drive the best value sourcing for the United Kingdom and Ireland, through best in class procurement and fostering the One Maersk mindset.

You will be responsible for the category strategy creation and implementation, strategic supplier selection, tendering and negotiation, stakeholder management and engagement and financial acumebn, along with team leadership, management and coaching and fostering a healthy working environment.

This position will be homebased and location is flexible for the right candidates in the UK& Ireland, the role will require monthly visits to our UKI offices.

Main Duties:

Overall responsible for optimising the procurement spend across the Logistic and Service 3rd party spend for all countries in scope
Develop category Strategy in alignment with Commercial Area Business Plans
Enable sustainable and profitable growth through best-in-class sourcing, optimizing operational behaviours and supplier innovation.
Develop and oversee the realization of the procurement plan (Pipeline)
Ensure compliance is managed to the expectations of the Maersk procurement process.
Manage vendor relationships including performance management on strategic level
Build and Develop the team

Manage the performance and build capabilities of the area procurement team and the individual team members
Facilitate the personal and functional development of the area procurement team and the individual team members
Build close relations with Stakeholders and foster a One Maersk mindset.
Govern the One Maersk mindset. Act as a point of escalation relating to dispute and issue resolution

Required experience & skills:

Significant Procurement experience within a similar organisation
Strong end to end process knowledge
Good people leadership skills
Good interpersonal, communication and excellent negotiating skills
Ability to engage and link multiple parties across functions and geographies
Ability to understand and interpret performance data
Strong customer focus
Works well under pressure
