The Role
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Legal Counsel to support our rapidly growing media and technology business in the UK.
You will be providing advice to teams on a wide range of legal enquiries, including advising on data privacy concerns, commercial wording for multiple agreement types and counterparty breaches. You will also be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating client media management contracts (including SOWs and Order Forms), AdTech licensing contracts including , DPAs and supplier contracts. You will have the opportunity to manage our Legal & Compliance executive which will involve 1:1 direct report. There will also be plenty of opportunity for project based work such as our CLM (Ironclad) and finding innovative solutions to automate processes. Hence, we are looking for someone who is able to prioritise these tasks and manage both their direct reports but also set expectations in the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of b2b agreements, including master service agreements, reseller agreements, DPAs, statements of works (SOWs) and order forms (OFs).
- Advice on complex legal matters, analysing the counterparty position and always proposing solutions.
- Work closely with sales and delivery teams and advise them on legal implications of commercial wordings in SOWs and OFs.
- Ensuring all templates are reviewed regularly and updated when needed.
- Being Ironclad's main contact for the UK, including building or updating workflows when needed, utilising its features efficiently and creating training for the team.
- Manage overall compliance, including conducting risk analysis, ensuring insurance coverage represents company needs, legal due diligence of acquisitions is supported and support is given to any litigation proceedings.
- Contribute to the creation of best-practices in data protection, contract management and compliance.
- Management of one direct report.
Key skills
- UK Solicitor or equivalent. Foreign qualifications acceptable subject to right experience.
- 2-3+ years of post qualification experience with preference for in-house experience in media, advertising, technology and data.
- Management experience is a bonus.
- Experience drafting B2B commercial agreements.
- Has a desire to learn more about the wider media, advertising, data, and technology industries.
- Has a client focused mindset and that can collaborate with colleagues across the business and clients.
- Has prioritisation and delegation skills as it will work on different requests at the same time.
- Has a strong commercial and business awareness that allows them to identify legal risks vs commercial opportunities involved and company strategy.
- It is proactive and takes the initiative.
