About this role

The role of a Project Manager is exciting, challenging and collaborative. You’ll support and have the chance to lead the delivery of a range of activities within the wider portfolio of work. You’ll be responsible for driving and delivering work packages or small projects within a larger programme, under the direction of a more senior manager or Scrum Master. You’ll need to be highly organised so that you know what needs to be done and in what order. You’ll also develop a whole new host of skills such as stakeholder management skills; critical to keeping projects on track to time and budget, as well as delighting our customers. You’ll be identifying potential problems and working out how to fix them before they happen, as part of good practice in risk management.

Our Programme/Project Management team and Agile Practice are responsible for delivering value through transformation programmes across Enterprise (our business sector). We drive successful delivery through timelines and budgets, reducing risk and adding discipline with planning, to make sure everything runs efficiently also - most importantly – we improve customer satisfaction.

We’ll teach you how to become experienced in project management and Agile Methodologies, starting with the basics and working up to more complex work over time. We’ll support your apprenticeship through a structured timetable of project management training modules, and you will also be assigned a buddy to learn the ropes from. You will also have the opportunity to job shadow a more experienced colleague. There’s lots of formal training via both your apprenticeship provider and BT along with practical on the job experience through managing your own work packages and projects. You’ll learn how to deal with our internal/external suppliers and customers, and how to address challenging situations. It won’t just be about the technical skills though, we’ll help you to develop so that you can work professionally and independently, taking responsibility and initiative.

This exciting opportunity is available in the Enterprise part of our business.
