UI/UX Designer
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Retail Systems Team team at Greggs as a UI/UX Designer on a 9 month fixed term contract. As UI/UX Designer you will support the team in delivering an exciting suite of innovative solutions for our in-store experiences. This is an incredibly exciting and unique opportunity here at Greggs to work in our product team helping shape the future of our digital products.

About the role
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

- The base location for this role is Newcastle Upon Tyne.
What you'll do
- Work with the rest of the product team to understand the needs of our customers and then subsequently users.
- Helping to contribute to the User-Centred Design practices at Greggs and championing design thinking to help educate and communicate to the wider team as to why design is important.
- Repeatedly creating and testing hypotheses in short cycles to incrementally evolve and improve our products.
- Carrying out user research by spending time with our store teams out in the field
- Producing wireframes, UX flows, low fidelity mock-ups, interactive prototypes and design specifications.
- Collaborating with the engineers and wider Product Team.
About you
You will fit right into this role if you have:
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- A keen enthusiasm for systems, routes, and optimisation
- A good understanding of applications such as Adobe XD, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch
- Ability to liaise directly with all stakeholders, define requirements, and discuss options
- Conduct and coordinate research, tests, and analysis
- Present research findings and ideate solutions, user journeys, flow diagrams, and wireframes
- Experience with rapid prototyping, user tests, refinement, and high-fidelity prototype(s)
- Solid understanding of the complexities, freedoms, and limitations when designing for digital applications.
- Excellent organisational, time and project management skills
- Ability to think creatively
- Mathematical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- An understanding of Agile product development
Preferred, though not essential:
- Motion graphics
- Knowledgeable in file formats
- Knowledge of WCAG standards
- Good housekeeping
- A way with words and an eye for interface design
- 3+ years UX design / Relevant higher qualifications
