Main Purpose:
UHS Estates Limited (UEL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of University Hospital
Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). The company is responsible for the
design and construction of new buildings, and the ongoing provision of services, including estates maintenance, soft facilities management and the management of equipment, consumables and materials.
The post holder will assist in the receiving, checking and receipting of all Purchase
Order non-stock items and other stores associated activities in accordance with current procedures under the direction of the Materials & Logistics Manager / their nominated deputy.

General Duties:
1. To receive, check off, and receipt stores received in ‘Goods In’, ensuring
that all goods received are subject to a robust audit trail and maintained
throughout the receipting process.
2. To ensure correct and safe receipt and unloading of all relevant goods
arriving at the receipt and distribution point.
3. To check delivery notes to certify correct receipt and to follow up any
discrepancies including incorrect deliveries and damaged goods. This includes contacting suppliers directly to arrange return/credit/exchange.
4. Receipt goods onto the Oracle Fusion and/or other finance systems, generate internal goods received notes and associated actions and get item ready for delivery to end user.
5. File all associated receipting documentation.
6. To assist in the return of incorrect or damaged goods back to the Supplier in accordance with laid down procedures.
7. To assist with other areas of the business as and when required for any reasonable work requests given by Supervisors and above.
8. To maintain good working relationships with both colleagues and customers.
9. To undertake training as required by the business, including training in use of manual handling equipment.
10. The compliance with the code of conduct and behavioural standards is expected from all staff.
11. To observe and comply with safe working practices including wearing uniform and personal protective equipment provided, in line with the
Group’s Appearance Policy.
12. Undertake driving duties in line with trust driving standards policy and in accordance with the Road Traffic Act, maintain delivery and collection schedules.
13. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, general tidiness and log defects or issues with line manager/designated vehicle supervisor.
14. Complete daily vehicle log as required at the start and end of shift, leaving vehicle ready for next use (ie refuelling or recharging).
15. Load and unload vehicles safely, adhering to health and safety, dangerous goods transport regulations (as appropriate), securing items in a safe manner for transportation.
16. To provide clear and up to date information with the wider team within
UEL with any issues with deliveries, but also directly with the UHS theatre staff when required. This will include investigation invoices that are on hold to enable them to be cleared for payment. Ensuring the end user has received the item or not as the case maybe.
17. Pick and replenish items within the Warehouse for theatre procedures
(kitting) in a timely manner to meet requirements.
18. To provide on the job training for the team/new starters when required.
This will also include support with new starter inductions.
19. In the absence of your line manager, between the Goods In wards assistants provide supervisory support to the Goods Inwards team, assist delivery drivers with any problems, escalating to the next level of line management when required.

This job description will be reviewed yearly as part of the annual appraisal, to ensure that it reflects the responsibilities of the post. No changes will be made without full consultation with the post holder.
Infection prevention and decontamination of equipment

policies, including policies for the cleaning and decontamination of equipment, in
order to protect their own health and that of other employees, visitors and patients.
Sustainability
Staff are reminded of their responsibility to take care of the resources used whilst at work. These include careful use of energy and water; for example, ensuring unnecessary equipment is turned off when not in use. Waste needs to be segregated properly. UHS policies and strategies for sustainability should be followed whilst undertaking daily duties. Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £21,730.00-£23,177.00 per year
