Post: Typing and Transcription Officer
Salary: Scale 3 - £21,432 - £22,677
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: St Mark’s House, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees
Applications are invited for the post of Typing and Transcription Officer based within Business Support, located at St Mark’s House in Thornaby.
As a Typing and Transcription Officer you will provide a high quality and confidential typing and transcription support service in relation to investigations and other police business. You will play an integral role in the production of verbatim and summary audio interview transcriptions, Record of Taped Interview (ROTI) and copy typing of witness statements.
We are therefore looking for candidates who have an eye for detail with excellent word processing and database skills using Microsoft Office. You will be confident communicating both in writing and verbally with a range of people throughout the organisation, whilst also ensuring deadlines are met to provide a high level of service. The ability to maintain confidentiality is vital as you will be required to process sensitive material.
Candidates should be aware that there will be a requirement to type information which may sometimes be of a distressing or offensive nature.
