Job description
Due to our continued success and expansion, we are looking to add an experienced Short Course Logistics Delivery Tutor to our personnel.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver to a portfolio of mixed further education provision (Adult Education skills courses and Skills Bootcamps). Over time this may also include Apprenticeship Programmes. All programmes will be across Logistics and Warehouse qualifications, with specific focus on pre-Large Good Vehicle Licence support programmes and Warehouse Programmes with embedded employability support specific to the Northeastern logistics job market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, deliver and assess the qualifications within the delivery plan and in accordance with the respective curriculum plan.
2. Ensure all learners receive an effective initial assessment, accurately identifying any additional learning needs. Ensure that this process supports and informs the learning process, enables individualised target and goal setting and the mapping of progress throughout the programme.
3. Where additional learning support needs are identified, ensure that a clear plan is put in place in collaboration with the Operations Manager to meet these needs and plan delivery to meet these additional needs.
4. Ensure that all learning pre-enrolment information and initial assessment information is used to plan for effective delivery and differentiation of learning.
5. Complete individual learning plans (ILPs) and 1-2-1 progress reviews to support learning and evidence progress for every learner.
6. Complete documentation in an accurate, organised, and timely manner ensuring compliance with contract funding requirements:
6.1. Ensure assessment of learning is ongoing, effective, and delivered as per the assessment plan/schedule. Where actions to improve are identified, ensure that a clear plan of action is put in place and followed with demonstrable impact on the quality of assessment, including evidencing and tracking of student progress.
6.2. Ensure that English, maths and digital skills are embedded throughout the curriculum and that opportunities to contextualise are implemented and built into the curricula.
6.3. Ensure that British Values, safeguarding and Prevent are embedded throughout the curriculum and that opportunities to contextualise are implemented and built into the curricula.
6.4. Liaise with Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) as appropriate to ensure awarding body registration, unit delivery and assessment are achieved in a timely manner.
6.5. Support the Internal Quality Assurance Quality Manager with relevant internal verification (IV) processes where appropriate.
7. Maintain accurate and timely records of learner attendance.
8. Create a positive environment for learning and set high expectations for the teaching teams in relation to standards of student attendance, punctuality, achievement, and the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
9. Provide input where required for Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement Planning for the curriculum area, as part of the organisational Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement Plan processes.
Person Specification:
- AET qualified (or equivalent)
- A1 Assessor (or CAVA, or equivalent)
- Remote delivery experience (via Teams, Zoom, Google etc.) of at least 6 months
- Professional experience in the logistics sector
- Capable of demonstrating competence to deliver Warehousing at Levels 2-3
- Capable of demonstrating competence to deliver Logistics and Transport qualifications at Levels 2-3
- Capable of demonstrating competence to deliver Leadership and Management qualifications at Levels 2-3
- Safeguarding Level 3 (Level 2 is acceptable as training is provided)
- Appropriate teaching techniques; an awareness of requirements of awarding bodies.
- Knowledge and understanding of mechanisms for the identification, assessment, and support of learner needs.
- Understanding of equality and diversity within the curriculum, barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these.
