Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient and motivated tutor to join our team in Chiswick. Tutors must have experience working with children from the ages of 8 - 18, ideally a music qualification of BA Hons or above and be professionally well rounded i.e. performing and teaching, (songwriting a bonus). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working indpendantly but also as part of the wider team. Tutors must be reliable, punctual and with good communication skills. Band Project tutors must be able to demonstrate or explain to students their individual parts so multi instrumentlists are preferred. A typical band line up covers vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass and drums. Specialist support for drums and vocals is available if needed. If a band includes non core instruments e.g. Saxophone, then depending on the student's experience level, tutors will be expected to prepare simple parts in the correct key OR arrangements will be provided for more advanced players. Tutors are as much MD's for their bands as they are teachers. An enhanced DBS check with annual renewal in place is desirable but can be arranged. Full training covering The Band Project teaching approaches and ethos is provided alongside T-Shirt/Sweatshirt which must be worn for all sessions and end of term gigs. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare a set of 2 - 4 songs for their bands (depending on age/experience) * Demonstrate or explain all parts of the songs chosen for the term * Develop Live performance skills in the band * Prepare simple 'road map' charts for bands to work from during sessions
