Job Summary: We are seeking passionate and dedicated tutors to join our team at Oakwood Tutors. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional educational support to students of various ages and academic levels. Your expertise and guidance will help students achieve their academic goals and foster a love for learning. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience of preparing students for school entrance exams (7+, 10+, 11+ etc) or a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in the assigned subject(s).
  • Assess students' learning needs and develop customised tutoring plans to address their specific requirements.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assist students in understanding difficult concepts, improving study skills, and enhancing academic performance.
  • Offer constructive feedback and encouragement to students to promote their confidence and motivation.
  • Monitor student progress, track performance, and adjust tutoring strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and the management team to ensure effective communication and support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest educational methodologies and subject-specific developments.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in the subject area and a strong passion for teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Patience, adaptability, and the ability to tailor instruction to meet individual student needs.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with relevant curriculum standards and educational resources.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Location: London and some online.

Schedule: Lessons take place in out of school hours. Typically, this will be evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract, Graduate
Part-time hours: 1-10 per week

Salary: From £30.00 per hour
