Northern Learning Trust
Full Time Newcastle upon Tyne, England 24048 - 12.04 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

At Northern Learning Trust we aim to improve the potential and raise the aspiration of people through learning. Much of our work is with vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities with complex needs. We use informal learning and mentoring to build confidence and skills, and help people find solutions to their problems.

We are seeking, highly motivated and dedicated Tutor-Mentors to join our team, providing one-to-one support for young people at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. As a qualified tutor, you will work one to one with the young person in community settings, delivering English and maths support, whilst acting as a mentor to help them address the factors preventing them engaging fully in education. You don’t need years of experience in teaching to succeed in this role but you do need to be supportive, non-judgemental and patient. Most importantly, you must like young people and be fully committed to ensuring that they reach their full potential.

We are passionate about the work we do and need a person who understands our values and believes in our mission. In return we offer you the opportunity to join a forward thinking and supportive organisation at an exciting stage in its development. We value our team members and offer a competitive salary, flexible working patterns and a friendly, supportive work environment.
