£35.78 p/hr, including pro-rata holiday and preparation time

We are seeking tutors to join the Maths and Multiply programme to teach on a range of courses aimed at improving the mathematical skills of diverse groups of learners from pre-entry to level 2. You will be passionate about creating innovative ways to help learners become confident with numbers, develop their maths skills for the workplace or prepare for qualifications. We are particularly interested in tutors who promote participatory learning, who will further the purpose of our department to develop the skills adults need to participate, make progress and express themselves in a modern democracy.
We are currently seeking tutors to teach on courses such as Maths functional skills (level 2) | Skills for life course | London | City Lit and Becoming data literate: how to understand and interpret the data all around you (level 1-2) | Skills for life course | London | City Lit but also to support work with community groups on a range of courses involving maths including budgeting, maths and digital skills, photography, sewing, knitting and other projects.

- Proven experience and success in teaching accredited and non-accredited maths up to and including level 2
- General competence in digital skills including Excel and ability to enable adults to develop these skills
- Experience of teaching in a way that promotes student participation, progression and expression
- Experience of facilitating the development of maths skills through imaginative and creative tasks including those related to administration, crafts, photography, and cooking
- Experience of supporting learners to invest in their learning so they are aware of what they need to do to improve both within a class and over the length of a course
