Reading Rabbits are looking for enthusiastic teachers to join their Early Years tuition center in Horsham, West Sussex.

At Reading Rabbits, we're all about the fun and enjoyment of learning to read and are looking for candidates with bubbly personalities and a passion for teaching, to join our team.

Teachers are required to teach children aged 2-8 years in small group classes.

We are looking for fully qualified primary school teachers with experience working in Early Years and Key Stage One.

Teaching shifts available: (subject to change as more classes are added in our growing franchise).

There are no classes during the Christmas holidays, but you may be required to work half terms and a few weeks during the summer holidays. When submitting your application, please indicate which class days you would be available to work.

We are looking for energetic, positive and enthusiastic teachers who relish the opportunity of working in a fun, interactive learning environment.

Teachers will be required to lead pre-school classes of up to 10 children, with parents staying and joining in with the learning. Teachers will also teach the various reading skills to school-aged children in small group classes. All classes are pre-planned and fully resourced, with no marking required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • set up classes with resources required before each class and packing away at the end of classes
  • teaching classes in a positive and engaging way
  • wipe down tables, hoover and check toilets are clean at the end of each day
  • discuss with parents any accomplishments or issues in their child's class
  • experience with social media is desirable but not necessary for the role

Key skills and experience required for this role are:

  • Positive and enthusiastic with children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good subject knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly phonics
  • Ability to learn new processes and concepts quickly
  • Be able to work quickly and calmly in a fast-paced environment
  • Be friendly and approachable
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • First Aid trained (desirable)
  • Safeguarding trained (training will be provided)
  • Training of the Reading Rabbits programme will be provided. Once selected, candidates will be required to go through an Enhanced DBS check and to provide two references. Candidates with valid DBS on the update service will be a plus.
  • Starting date: ASAP, but prepared to wait for the right candidates

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10-20 per week

Salary: £12.50 per hour
