Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs that change deaf people’s lives through emotional and practical support – because nobody with hearing loss should feel alone. Our amazing dogs help deaf children and adults to leave loneliness behind and reconnect with life.
What you will be doing
This is a hybrid role with ideally 1-2 days in the office (including donor meetings). Working as the Trusts and Foundations Officer you will be fully responsible and accountable for:
- Supporting the Head of Major Giving with Trust & Foundations and Major Giving income to achieve annual targets by creating and delivering high-quality applications for grant funding for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Hearing Link Services, creating a synergy of combined applications to maximise income for both areas of our work.
- Develop relationships with colleagues in fundraising, the wider organisation and external trusts and foundation managers and administrators.
- Research the market and develop market knowledge. Establish new partnerships with Trusts, using all relevant and appropriate research techniques to understand their grant giving criteria.
- Write and produce compelling trust applications and update reports. To ensure all trusts funding applications are relevant, timely and produced to the highest standard.
- Record all information for Trusts on CRM, create reports for income and ensure all application templates are up to date.
- Account manage trust and Major Giving relationships, ensuring the trust receives updates and reports on time.
- Support the Head of Major Giving with major donor and corporate development.
What you will need to succeed
- A good knowledge of trusts and foundations and experience of successful trust applications is essential.
- You will be able to develop relationships with colleagues in the wider teams, senior staff, Hearing Dogs trustees, external trusts and foundation managers and administrators.
- You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to write and produce compelling trust applications and update reports to the highest standard Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
