Job description
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) as our Trust Secretary.
In this high profile role you will be working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chair and Director of Quality Patient Care to ensure that effective and compliant corporate governance arrangements are in place and the Board and the membership council (council of governors) are supported and operate effectively and efficiently. The post requires good technical knowledge and the sensitivity and judgement to apply this wisely, with insight into complex and finely balanced situations.
Please note the JD is indicative Band 8d subject to job evaluation process.
The Trust secretary will provide leadership, expertise and oversight to enable the Trust to deliver effective governance and to advise the Board and senior management on compliance and mechanisms for assurance.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that SWASFT complies with all relevant legal, constitutional and regulatory requirements and the code of governance for provider trusts.
