We require an enthusiastic and dynamic HR Manager to play a pivotal role in the Trust Leadership Team. This is a unique opportunity to join us at an exciting time as we plan to develop a highly capable central function that will provide efficient and effective services trust-wide and facilitate the Trust’s aims for growth.
The HR Manager will be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle and play a key role in the growth and development of the Trust taking a lead in the centralisation of key support roles and supporting any future ‘on-boarding ‘ of new schools. As the Trust grows, we see this role as the leader of a team of HR professionals supporting Schools with both strategic and operational HR decisions.
We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated HR professional who will be pivotal to creating a professionally fulfilled, motivated and empowered staff who are role models to our children inspiring them to be successful lifelong learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
You'll be an experienced HR professional who understands how to achieve our Trust vision through the provision of an excellent HR service, providing advice to Leaders on more complex HR issues to ensure effective resolution and supporting Leaders through change initiatives.
As HR Manager you will be a confident communicator with proven experience of all aspects of HR delivery and able to take the lead on HR related projects to drive change and improvement throughout the organisation.
You will have a calm, organised nature, with the ability to work professionally to strict deadlines, responding effectively and efficiently to challenges and bringing vision and a relentless drive to make things happen. You will be able to communicate confidently and effectively, in varied situations. You will have the ability to work both as part of a team and independently, maintaining a positive and successful working relationship with colleagues.
Job Purpose
The Trust HR Manager will promote and support the vision and direction of the Trust by providing leadership that will enable staff to reach the highest possible standards of achievement and well-being.
Responsible for the entire employee lifecycle, providing strategic and operational HR advice and support and be responsible for the development and maintenance of new and existing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with latest employee legislation.
The Trust HR Manager will design and manage the Trust’s recruitment and retention processes, sickness management, leave of absence, disciplinary and grievance procedures. Working with the employees and their representatives where necessary.
The Trust HR Manager, alongside the Trust Chief Finance Officer, will advise and support the Chief Executive Officer in coordinating, formulating and reviewing the aims and employee initiatives within the Trust, including succession planning, change processes and achievement of business objectives.
As an employee of Greater Manchester Academies Trust, you may be required to work at any school within the Trust. Currently these are on 2 neighbouring sites within 2 miles of the city centre in north Manchester.

Role Details
Salary: Points A36 to A40 of the Support Staff Pay Spine, currently £46,075 - £48,845 FTE
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer / Chief Finance Officer
Responsible For: HR support staff across the trust
Hours of work 37.5hr week / AYR or TTO+

Immediately (depending on DBS and recruitment checks)
