THE POST- Trust Grade in Emergency Medicine (CT1/CT2)
We are advertising for 6 month fixed term Emergency Medicine posts to cover Trainee gaps for York Hospital.

All applicants must have full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC, as well as current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification

We welcome candidates who have an interest in Emergency Medicine and are considering a career in the specialty. The Trust Grade post offers and exciting opportunity to obtain the starting blocks of a successful career in the specialty.
Plans are in place to move to self-rostering in 2023, providing our doctors with greater flexibility in work patterns. The current Rota is a 27 week rolling Rota consisting of day, evening & night shifts.
We have a great team consisting of Trust grade tier doctors, Deanery Rotations (FY1, FY2, ST1-ST6, ACCS, GPSTR and Junior Clinical Fellows) plus Specialty Doctors, Associate Specialists and Consultants. We also have a fantastic team of EMP's & ACP's.
York Emergency Department is currently undergoing an exciting £18 million development to offer high quality modern facilities designed to create the best care for our patients. The development will see the creation of a new Emergency Floor, incorporating the Emergency Department & Emergency Assessment Unit - including a modern 8 bay resus area. The Emergency Floor will be operating under a new clinical model, focusing on up front senior assessment and specialty review ensuring patients receive timely emergency care and early specialty review. This new clinical model provides exciting opportunities for Doctors at CT1/CT2 level to receive a high level of support senior colleagues whilst being given the exposure to a wide range of Emergency Medicine presentations.
Whilst the posts available do not form part of the formal training programme, we endeavour to offer post holders the same training and educational opportunities as colleagues in training, including paid study leave. You will be provided with clinical and educational supervision, to enable your personal and portfolio development. There is an active Postgraduate Medical Education Centre on both sites, as part of a dynamic Education and Training directorate, which is developing multi-professional training.
