Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Truck Sales Consultant to join our team in Thurrock.

You will be Identifying, qualifying, and assisting new and existing customers in their purchase of heavy goods vehicles within our market area. Through this achieving annual sales targets for units, finance and all relevant downstream such as repair and maintenance packages and telematics.

Salary £35,000 - £40,000 pa basic

Uncapped Commission Scheme and Bonus Scheme with OTE Earnings Of £65,000.00 - £75,000.00

8:30am – 5:30pm

What you will do

· Prospecting targeted and researched new businesses through the tools available on a structured basis

· Maintain and grow customer relationships

· Managing territory and identifying key potential and existing customers within that area and wider afield

· Ensuring all new activities with prospects and existing customers is recorded on our chosen customer database

· Utilising the use of our driver trainer team and demonstration fleet to fully enhance the benefits of the Mercedes-Benz product lines

· Preparing in depth proposals on Mercedes-Benz and FUSO Canter product to fully cover the customer’s needs including full life costs, fuel savings and residual values etc.

· Working as part of a wider team with administration, parts and most importantly aftersales to ensure the finest customer experience in all aspects of the business

· Reporting weekly activity to General Manager and Group Truck Sales Manager

· Attending customer meetings to actively qualify their transport requirements

· Explaining in detail product features and how they can impact the customer’s business in a positive way

· Explaining in detail finance and aftersales products available to the customer and actively promoting these options

· Concluding from prospect to sale including negotiation and contract signing

· Working with administration to ensure all orders are correct and the specification to the exact customer requirements

· Managing the customer experience from order to handover with regular updates on vehicle progress

· Measuring your success by the customers satisfaction ensuring we give the highest level of customer service for both Mercedes-Benz and FUSO Canter customers

· Ensuring all paperwork is correct and present as part of the sales process

· Adhering to current government legislation and ensuring all vehicles that go on the road are legal according to the relevant bodies

· Delivering the vehicle to the highest standard with our driver trainer team. On time and to the customer’s request

· Liaising with suppliers and involving them with the customer in complex builds to ensure we are adding value and ensuring fit for purpose criteria

Skills and Experience required for the job:

· You are articulate, present logically and clearly, show you hold customers in high esteem, reliable, honest, and trustworthy

· You must be able to show how to build long lasting and effective customer relationships that benefit both the customer and the business

· You need to be target driven and show aspiration to be the best in your field

· Some sales or business to business vehicle experience is essential. An eager, highly motivated attitude is essential
