Job description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Short Haul Truck Driver to join our Trucking team, delivering goods from British Columbia to the United States.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 1 driver's license with air brakes endorsement, a clean driving record, and a minimum of 6 months commercial driving experience.
This is a full-time, permanent position, with an excellent benefits package, and room for growth.
Responsibilities:
- Transport goods safely and efficiently from Langley, BC to Kelowna, BC or Seattle, USA in compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure proper maintenance and safety of the vehicle
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to driving, safety, and transportation
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo, vehicle usage and fuel consumption
- Adhere to customs and border regulations, including obtaining necessary permits and documentation and submitting to inspections
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 driver's license with air brakes endorsement
- Minimum of 6 months commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Ability to cross the Canadian-US border and comply with customs and border regulations
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to driving, safety, and transportation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks as required
- Availability to work as early as 4am
- Valid passport
