An opportunity has arisen for a HGV Driver at our Holmes Chapel Mill due to business growth, and additional vehicles to our fleet. The normal working week is Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays & very occasional nights out during periods of peak demand. The successful applicant will be practical and with good interpersonal skills. Candidates must live within reasonable commutable distance to our Holmes Chapel site.
The position is for a full time HGV Driver.
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a LGV C [Class 2] license, although LGV C+E [Class 1] is advantageous, and have up to date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Have an excellent driving record and have passed an eyesight and medical test (as part of the LGV test)
- Have an excellent attitude to customer service and to be well presented.
- To ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across the UK area, carrying out multi-drop deliveries.
- Comply with WTD/Tacho rules and regulations as well as Company policies and procedures..
- Handle Customer issues on delivery effectively with a smile and a high level of customer service.
- Maintaining a high level of vehicle standards including cleanliness of the cab & exterior at all times.
- Daily walkaround checks
- Provide support in the yard as and when required.
It is an advantage if the job holder also has:
- Experience or interest in agriculture and farming
- A good understanding of the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASCC)
- Familiarity with Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) Code of practice for making safe deliveries of animal feed on farms
- Experience using Manitou De-mountable forklifts
We recognise our drivers as our ambassadors on the road and to our customers, so impeccable behaviour is essential at all times. Drivers must comply with all Road Transport Directive Legislation including rules relating to driver hours. It is our driver’s responsibility to ensure that all paperwork must be completed correctly and all vehicle checks are made, to ensure legal compliance and safety requirements.
