Avaliable Job Today Draglam Waste is seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Driver. You will be responsible for the safe, accurate and on-time pick-up recyclables from large, high volume customers as well as from other commercial customers for transporting, while returning with Salt load.
Working shifts may require starting earlier or later as well as finishing earlier or later depending on customer/company requirements.
Additional day and overtime required during peak periods and when workload necessitates.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily routine vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
- Visual inspection of loaded material, report all discrepancies.
- Safely transport waste and off-load truck while returning with Salt load.
- Ensure all freight is properly secured/tarped (verify tailgate is properly closed).
- Record material transported, as well as any special instructions.
- Accurately fill and submit daily log sheets, delivery/packing slips, payment received.
- Clean all material debris from truck box and cab.
- Always hold a valid driver’s license.
- Operate Tractor Trailer according to all relevant highway/road acts, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education
- 3-5 years related experience
- Possession of a valid AZ driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to communicate with customers and dispatch efficiently in the English language (read/write).
- Capable of reading road map book for navigation.
- Punctuality to start times must be strictly observed.
- General knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area and State of Michigan (USA) is an asset.
- Flexibility in traveling from one yard to another when required. Having own transportation is a great asset.

Salary: $85,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
