Shift Patterns
Drivers will need to be able to be flexible as this is not a Monday to Friday Role, and able to work to a Monthly work schedule; to be provided in advance, so you know what days your working.
We endeavour have drivers start at times preferable to that which they are used to, but we cannot be guaranteed to provide the same each week as we are provided with the times to cover week on week.
Your weekly planned start times for each week will be fixed for each week, but may not be the same week on week(these are provided on a Friday), so flexibly is required.
Being a 24/7 operation, with shifts that cover days and night periods, weekends and bank holidays, we shall work with you to create a work life balance as best as is operationally possible.
Average shift length 11 hours with a Booking to our client for 12hrs.
5 shifts a week (Guaranteed Payment - Regardless of days worked)
Early to Late Afternoon & Night shifts will be the bookings.
Full Time Contract (Min 40hrs per week)
Part Time Contract (Min 20hrs per week)

!!A rota based shift pattern (any 5 days out of 7), so weekends will need to be covered!!

HGV Driver Benefits
Driver is not required to assist with any unloading/loading.
Clean easy work, with no handball or pump truck use; you only open box trailer doors.

6th shift over time available (subject to operational needs)
Trucks are allocated to only 2 drivers at a time to be shared.
Their are Drivers facilities at our yard (showers, toilets, kitchen facility)
1 Driver CPC paid for per year (subject to terms and completion of probation)

HGV Driver Requirements

Have a Valid Driving License with category C+E (HGV class 1)
A minimum of 1 years Class 1 (CE) Experience
Hold a UK Driver DQC (Blue Card) - Drivers CPC
Have or be working towards 35hrs of Driver Professional Competence ( We can help you to achieve your hours)
Have a Digital Tachograph / Smart Chip Card
Be able to speak & read English satisfactorily.
Have a maximum of 6 penalty points in the Driver’s License (as well as no DD, DR or IN endorsements)
Successfully interviewed drivers will be required to pass drug and alcohol & criminal records background check by Her Majesty's Government authorities, and external reference agencies.

HGV Driver Responsibilities

Interact with our clients in a professional and courteous manner
Complete daily maintenance checks on trucks/trailers and notify manager of any issues via PreDrive App.
Ensure Drivers Hours and Working Time Regulations are fully compliant.
Keep in contact with the Transport Manager regarding delays to destinations, and issues with vehicles and routes.
Help develop new and better practices for the rest of your driver team, by providing feedback about jobs to the business, so we may do better, and help you the driver.
Keep trucks clean and tidy inside and out (we will help with top quality supplies)
