Job description
Position Purpose: Processes treasury functions for all Northland’s corporate, commercial, multifamily, and development entities. Maintains timely and accurate accounting and financial records, assists with corporate accounting department whenever needed.
Essential Functions: The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.
- Performs all daily cash movements including wire and ACH processing for outgoing payments, internal transfers, investor distributions, investment executions along with tracking of incoming wires and capital calls, and other cash duties as needed
- Utilize accounting software for reporting and recording payments into general ledger system (MRI/Yardi)
- Process transactions timely and accurately while communicating consistently and timely between Treasury and other departments
- Researches and clears all positive pay variances on a daily basis for all checks issued
- Process any manual checks received by the corporate office via check scanner and ensure proper deposits
- Weekly proofing of corporate, development, split and commercial AP batches and transfers
- Prepares the monthly bank fee analysis and billbacks
- Manage the opening and closing process of all bank accounts
- Maintain banking records manually/electronically (bank accounts, authorized signors, etc.)
- Manage banking portals, account entitlements, and assist all users related to on-line banking systems
- Support the management of employee expense system (Concur)
- Act as primary contact for all of Northland’s accounts at various banking institutions
- Ensure all treasury activity adheres to sound internal control protocols and consistent account entitlements
- Recommend and implement improvements to current cash management processes, including management of banking platforms
- Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers
Job Requirements:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with two years of accounting, banking, financial services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Exposure to real estate preferred; experience with Concur, MRI, Yardi, online banking platforms, and/or accounting information systems a plus.
- Advanced competency with computer, peripherals and variety of software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and operating in a remote environment.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a high-energy environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities within the workload.
- Ability to interact with team members, leaders, and vendors with poise and diplomacy.
- Ability to exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions; this includes the willingness to accept the changes made.
