Main Purpose
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Transportation
Specialist at the 420 Logistics Squadron, Royal Air Force Fairford, United Kingdom.
You will perform the duties of Ground Transportation dispatcher and deputy driver training instructor and will
manage all driver training, certification, periodic re-training, familiarization training, load planning, and route
planning. You are responsible to manage vehicle fleet, i.e., receiving, validating, and consolidating transportation
request for service and evaluates the efficiency of service to determine where changes need to be made. You
will also review, organize, and update training business area (TBA) for required military personnel.

Knowledge and Experience Required
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
1. Must hold C + E driving licence (tractor/trailer), D driving license (bus), and have instructional experience.
2. Knowledge of EU, UK, local safety and traffic rules and regulations for operating vehicles. Be able to provide training on vehicle operations, e.g., safe loading and unloading of cargo, in line with USAF procedures. Be willing to undertake training on wrecker vehicle up to 35 Ton.
3. Must have the ability to operate a forklift or be willing to undertake the training.
4. Ability to plan and organize a busy dispatch and training office, mentor and motivate military training team, making the best of use of manpower, time, and resources to achieve unit objectives.

- Hours of work: Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies.
- Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- May be assigned other duties that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the employee.
- May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training. Position may be coded as mission essential.
- A 6-month probationary period will be required.
- Overtime may be required.
- May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties or attend necessary train.
Other significant facts pertaining to this position are:
1. May be subject to work other than normal duty hours.
2. This position will require the incumbent to be on call. When on-call the employee will respond to urgent after hours and/or non-duty day issues as they may arise at any time of day or night. Responses may involve communication via telephone and/or commuting to RAF Fairford. When required to be on call will be entitled to the inconvenience allowance.
