SLR are looking to further grow their Transportation Planning team and offering, throughout the West Midlands, based from our Birmingham offices.

The roles
Working within a growing transport planning team in the West Midlands, which extends from the Midlands to Scotland, we can offer excellent opportunities for transport planning and modelling professionals, across all levels, within our Birmingham office.
Transport Planners
Transport Modellers
These will be client facing / interacting positions, with opportunities to grow your own professional network, so you will liaise with clients and attend meetings. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to larger project delivery, as well as assisting with work winning activities, including the preparation of fee proposals. There will also be the opportunity to support and provide guidance to less experienced team members, making a tangible contribution to both their and your professional development.

About you
Working with a Regional Director and existing team of consultants, we are seeking enthusiastic, skilled transport planners and modellers of all levels and experience, with excellent interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with colleagues, clients, stakeholders and co consultants.

The roles

Transport Planners
- Responsible for the delivery of a wide range of transport assessments and travel plans
- Use your detailed knowledge and experience of standard modelling packages and recognised transport appraisal techniques.
- Manage project workload and finances in line with client expectations.
Transport Modellers
- Manage the full life cycle of small to medium sized transport modelling projects to required objectives, ensuring that work is of an exceptional quality.
- Provide clear technical guidance in S-Paramics modelling and appraisal to clients and colleagues.
- Prepare concise, well-written notes and reports detailing and justifying work done, analysis and recommendations.

- Relevant degree (or higher) level qualification and membership of the Transport Planning Society
- Demonstrable experience at a comparable level within transport planning in a consultancy or similar commercial environment
- Proven project delivery capabilities, along with project and client management skills
- Experience of relevant and current transport planning or modelling packages / assessment software
- Knowledge of highway design principles to advise clients on site access strategies
