Transportation Manager
About The Position
Athena Farms is a foodservice distributor located in Forest Park, GA. We are currently looking for an experienced Transportation Manager to join our team and manage the delivery process.
What You Will Be Doing
- Manage a team of supervisors and delivery drivers.
- Supervise the day to day operations.
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to with each delivery.
- Assist with the resolution of any delivery issues: bill of ladings, freight disputes and credits.
- Schedule all pickups, deliveries and inbound freight.
- Create weekly work schedule for drivers.
- Prepare and assign daily routes.
- Maintain daily communication with drivers, and sales team.
- Handle all roadside assistance for fleet as needed.
- Schedule preventative and routine maintenance of fleet.
Job Requirements:
About You
- 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory/managerial role with logistics or transportation
- High school diploma/GED required
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Routing software experience is a plus
- Ability to work early morning, start time from 3:00 am until 1:00 pm, 5 days per week, days off are Wednesdays and Sundays, additional days based on business necessity
