Position Scope:
The primary responsibilities of this position is to create a freight-conscious environment through establishment of an internal and external freight tracking and shipment program. This will lead to the optimization of the highway truck fleet and reduced freight expenditures through negotiated freight rates with internal and external customers.

NACG is seeking a Freight and Logistics Coordinator for our Ruth Lake site in Fort McMurray. Do you have strong computer skills? Are you an organized, go-getter? This might be right fit for you.
The primary responsibilities of this position is to create a freight-conscious environment through establishment of an internal and external freight tracking and shipment program. This will lead to the optimization of the highway truck fleet and reduced freight expenditures through negotiated freight rates with internal and external customers.
Location: Ruth Lake
Rotation: 7x7 -11.5h day
Accommodations: No camp or flights but LOA provided
Salary range: $73,676.00 to $80,374.00 per annum.
- Managing customer expectations through optimal dispatching of heavy haul fleet.
- Establish a cost effective efficient method of freight control in all NACG operating areas.
- Reduce external freight shipments through consolidation.
- Ensure internal and external freight shipments are invoiced correctly.
- Dispatching heavy haul fleet in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Creating and managing an internal freight distribution network.
- Managing a cost-effective, efficient method of freight control.
- Financial reporting for business unit.
- Reviewing internal and external freight shipments for accuracy.
- Must have a minimum 5 years transportation background with warehousing and freight coordination experience.
- Must have minimum 2 years oilfield, mining, highway trucking dispatch experience.
- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent.
- Relevant post-secondary education (preferred).
- Must possess a working knowledge of the trucking industry.
- Must possess a working knowledge of commercial vehicle driver compliance requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have very strong organizational skills.
- Must have working knowledge of Excel and associated programs and be able to produce legible reports.
- Must be a quick learner and able to work with a minimum level of supervision.
- Must have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Experience with JD Edwards program an asset.
- Must be able to travel to as required.
All successful candidates must:
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Have experience as requested as mentioned above
- Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Assessment
- Audiometric Testing
- Vision Screening

- CSO Certification
- Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
- VOID cheque/direct deposit form
