To supervise the safe and compliant utilisation of all drivers and equipment within the Doncaster Redhouse Mawdsleys Logistics Transport operation in order to ensure the efficient distribution of all product in accordance with MHRA regulations.
Working Hours are Monday to Friday - 10:00 to 18:30.
40 Hour working week.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all vehicles and drivers within job holder’s sphere of responsibility remain compliant with all regulatory requirements and business agreed processes.
- Align with all MHRA regulations/company SOP’s to safeguard product integrity and cool chain stipulations.
- Assist Transport Manager with continuous improvement in all areas.
- Champion Health & Safety in all aspects of the operation ensuring that the company zero accident culture is promoted.
- Uphold principles of felt leadership through ‘leading by example’, always promoting highest standards of safety.
- Manage drivers to deliver required customer service levels in line with those laid out in Mawdsleys SOP suite.
- Provide a service to customers that meets the targets of the business in relation to order fill and delivery on time.
- Proactively maintain positive, honest and open working relationships with customers, protecting and enhancing the Mawdsley brand.
- Encourage open discussion by creating opportunities for formal and informal interaction with the driver workforce, maximising face to face communication in order to develop strong working relationships.
- Ensure that drivers are de-briefed daily, and any actions or issues are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner and the information is relayed back to the individual.
- Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, leadership and fairness at all times whilst adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that holidays, absence and company policies are adhered to on a daily basis.
- Inspires commitment to the company, their services, and future success.
- Be an integral part of the Management team across the wider business building relationships and a teamwork ethos.
- Be involved and lead if relevant, any projects that are required to support the business strategy.
Person Specification:
- Understands Legal Compliance and legality within the transport industry.
- Previous Supervisor experience.
- Flexible approach to work with a willingness to work additional hours when required.
- Strong team player who can react appropriately, while listening and understanding the views of others. Helping others see a different point of view.
- Excellent communicator who is confident and enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills and has an honest and open approach.
- PC Literate and good all-round administration skills.
- Ability to plan workload, prioritise tasks and apply own initiatives and judgement effectively to make correct decisions.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with difficult, and high pressure, situations resulting in satisfactory closure.
- Enjoys challenges, problem solving and is adaptable to a changing environment.
- Has a keen eye for detail
- People leadership experience within a transport environment.
- Prior experience of working in a transport environment.
