To be based in the Bristol office, we are recruiting an individual who excels in Streets and Public Realm Design for our Transport Planning business. Atkins are the Framework Consultants for West of England Combined Authority (Bristol CC, BANES, South Gloucs), Wiltshire Council, and Gloucestershire County Council, meaning that you will have the opportunity to influence your local area. Our regional team also includes the Cardiff office who serve all of South Wales. Within the wider business we also contribute to projects at a national scale for many other local and national government bodies and the private sector.
Your purpose:
Collaborating with specialists from across our business as part of multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll work on flagship regeneration, site expansion and development projects. Making the most of your transport planning knowledge and understanding, you’ll create streetscapes, deliver active travel and public transport projects, secure developers planning approvals and deliver sustainable accessible developments.
What you can bring?
Successful applicants will be flexible, self-motivated and will be expected to demonstrate a capability in the following:
- Strong analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication with strong report writing capability.
- Adapting to challenges and proven success in meeting deadlines.
- Confident team worker with ability to work independently.
- Experience of working to time and budget constraints.
- Experience in supporting the development and implementation of urban highway, transport and public realm schemes.
- Delivery of work in line with DMRB and MfS guidance.
- Experience of 2D design using AutoCAD Civils 3D.
