We are recruiting for a Transport Operations Supervisor for the Widnes site to assist and supervise all transport activities to ensure that the delivery plan is completed in accordance with customers’ requirements, whilst optimising the company fleet and ensuring legal compliance. The jobholder will reporting to the Northern Transport Manager and working alongside 2 other colleagues at the Widnes office.

Tasks include:

 Act as the focal point for all daily operational transport issues.

 Monitor the performance of the sub-contractor fleet and raise any issues with the appropriate company.

 Document all changes to the Delivery Plan and produce an accurate Confirmed Delivery Plan.

 Responding to customer enquiries, providing quotation and keep them updated on progress of their deliveries.

 Authorise all company driver’s pay and confirmation of sub-contractor costs.

 Ensure the fuel management system is correctly used by all Widnes drivers.

 Assist in the closing out job files by obtaining POD and other required information.

 Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost effectively.

 Ensure drivers are working within legislation requirements, including WTD, tachos.

 Provide a daily Operations Sheet to the Planners confirming holidays, sickness, rest days and vehicle availability.

 Any other tasks deemed reasonable by Line Manager.

Hours: Monday – Friday; between the hours of 09:00 – 17:00.

Salary: £30,000.00-£31,270.00 per year
