Job description
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our Night Shift Transport Operation. You will be working within a 24 hour, 7 day a week Aviation Logistics company and its subsidiary Commercial Vehicle Rental company servicing London Heathrow. As a Transport Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for the smooth running of our transportation and communications operation. On a day-to-day basis you will be liaising with your co-workers, customers, our warehouse and management teams and our drivers to ensure we deliver an impeccable service.
Mixed Freight Services Ltd is a Civil Aviation Authority regulated and licensed logistics company. We engage ourselves in the transportation, handling and screening of Import, Export and General Cargo within the United Kingdom. The successful applicant will be working within our 24 hour, 7 day a week operation and will also support our subsidiary Commercial Vehicle Rental company servicing London Heathrow. Employment Type:
- Full-time
- Permanent subject to a six-month probationary period.
Days and Hours of Work:
- 4 on 4 off rotational shift pattern
Salary: £30,576.00 per year, paid weekly
Progressive Salary: £31,122.00 (Subject to performance review 6 months from start date)
£31,668.00 (Subject to performance review 12 months from start date)
PLEASE NOTE: Increments will be instated subject to performance reviews and following successful completion of the probationary period. Any further progression will be discussed at a later stage during employment.
Holidays: 19.6 days per year (Statutory holiday entitlement for a 4 on 4 off rotational shift pattern employee)
Sick: Statutory Sick Pay only
Pension: NEST Employer 3% Employee 5%
Duties will include:
- Allocating vehicles and drivers to customers’ jobs in line with customer specifications.
- Despatching and de-briefing of drivers to and from their daily tasks.
- Consistent and accurate use of our technological operational systems and standard operating procedures.
- Maintaining regular contact with drivers to facilitate customer progress reports and anticipate delays.
- Updating customers with progress reports and any extra charges incurred.
- Updating and recording required information on customer job cards including extra charges such as waiting times etc.
- Assisting with customers/visitors at the reception desk.
- Responding to incoming calls and emails within a satisfactory time frame.
- Addressing any disputes from customers/clients.
- Creating a good rapport and long-lasting relations with valued customers.
- Communicating with the team to maintain service standards and promote excellent customer service.
- Developing productive relationships between departments, colleagues and customer relations.
- Effective delivery and receival of operational handovers.
- General administrative tasks.
- Complying with Health, Safety and security at work.
