Do you want to make a difference?
Are you passionate about discovering new ways to improve and change someone’s life for the better? This just might be the job for you!
Being able to access education and day care settings could not be more important to the children and adults in our area who have complex needs. Our service is passionate about helping vulnerable adults access stimulating social environments and build on their personal networks. We help many young learners who are vulnerable or have complex needs travel to school, helping them to access the same opportunities and improve their life chances as others. If you share our passion, then this role may be the perfect opportunity for you.
Working as part of our team you will liaise with multiple stakeholders including parents and carers, schools, day care centres, external contractors, and colleagues to deliver travel assistance to our passengers. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to build great relationships. This is a really rewarding role and you absolutely don’t need to be experienced working in the same field however, understanding adults and children who have a special educational need or disability, or logistical planning and service delivery would be advantageous.
What you will be doing:
Making sure our passengers get to where they need to be by managing the team to deliver safe and reliable daily transport provision.
Be part of a team providing development and training opportunities to our staff.
Collaborate with customers, contractors, parents and carers, schools, and day care centre staff to manage new referrals and any changes to transport arrangements in line with any policy or other statutory guidance.
Making sure our passengers are safe by carrying out risk assessments to support delivery of transport, travel assistance and travel training.
Support with the budget management across the service, monitoring of internally delivered and contracted transport as well as payments to parents or carers.
Measuring success and providing operational performance information.
What you must have:
Excellent coordination and organisational skills and ability to work in a high volume environment.
A Passion to achieve positive results for the people you engage with.
A collaborative approach to working with excellent interpersonal skills.
Creativity to help develop and maintain the service provided.
Integrity in your approach, being respectful and doing things in the right way.
Flexibility in your approach to meet customer engagement and needs of the service.
We can offer you family-friendly policies, generous annual leave, employee discounts and a great pension scheme.
It is important that we are the right fit and share the same values, which is why we would love a chat with you to talk through the role and answer any questions. Get in touch with me today, Helen Harris, Independent Travel Needs Assessor. Tel: 01642 353447.
The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
