Job description
Role & responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating and supervising all traffic functions relating to freight movement in and out of a facility
- Direct and supervise the scheduling of inbound/outbound shipments to ensure most economical utilization of carriers based on service parameters; interface with operations to resolve any problems associated with scheduling and dispatching; recommend programs to the director that improves the transportation function; and could include customs concerns and regulating costs
- Develop and implement transition plans in support of a projected changing business model migrating from DC replenishment to POS delivery to the final end-user customers; develop service contingencies to support the entire supply chain
Experience
- 5 years experience
- Transport Manager CPC
- Experience Managing Large Fleet
- Retail experience
- Running a team of shift manager and 110 in 24/7 operations
Report to General Manager
Schedule
Monday – Friday, some on call requirements
Salary
£50,000 – £55,000 p/a
