Transport Manager
Duties:
- Oversee and manage the transportation operations of the company
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimise efficiency and reduce costs
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, including route planning, vehicle assignments, and driver schedules
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards
- Monitor and analyse transportation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Manage a team of drivers and transportation staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth coordination of transportation activities with production, warehousing, and customer service
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and fuel usage
Requirements:
- Qualification in Logistics, Transport, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in transportation management or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Proficient in using transportation management software and systems
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
