Transport Services became a joint department in 2011 and has a diverse fleet of around 1,300 vehicles and employ 46 staff. Our annual mileage of our fleet covers around 20 million miles. Joint transport operates 6 workshop sites within the main hubs at Wymondham and Ipswich.
Applicants are invited to apply for the role within the Joint Transport, with the advertised post being based at Martlesham Heath, Ipswich.
Job advert (including person specification)
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
- Holder of a full driving licence with the ability to undertake driving/delivering duties
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to use own initiative to make decisions with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to undertake loading/unloading of vehicles
- Ability/willingness to undertake vehicle cleaning to a high standard
- Flexibility in terms of responding to the day to day requirements of the unit/Constabulary with the ability to travel across Suffolk and Norfolk as required
- Awareness of the need to follow and apply general Health and Safety advice, particularly in relation to the moving and handling of equipment and cleaning
- Effective communication skills to liaise with colleagues at all levels within the organisation
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
- Local Geographical knowledge
- Full driving licence to include category C1 and D1
