Transport Driver
Job description
An opportunity has arisen within the Regeneration and Community Services directorate for a transport driver to collect and deliver school meals to Canolafon yr Bach 3-16 Campus in Ebbw Vale and Tredegar.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Assistant Team Leader/Cook Supervisor of Blaenau Gwent School Meals Service.
Duties will include collection and delivery of school meals in a timely manner, checking of vehicle daily on collection at Brynmawr Central Depot, returning empty boxes to Ebbw Fawr Primary kitchen and completion of relevant paperwork. Also, on some occasions, cash handling will be required.
You will be prepared to work additional hours or at any reasonable time of day as required in order to ensure the smooth running of the catering unit.
The successful candidate must also be willing to undertake any training considered necessary for the post which will include Food Safety Level II qualification.
Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.
