Oil Salvage limited is one of Britain largest hazardous waste management organisations offering an all- inclusive service covering collection, treatment, disposal, reprocessing and recycling of waste oils and other hazardous materials
As Transport Co-ordinator, you will support the operation of the transport department providing a first class professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
Your main duties will include:
Ensure that all activities within the transport function are carried out with the highest regard to Health and Safety ensuring the wellbeing of all employees, customers and members of the public in accordance with legislation and the company’s environmental and health and safety policies.
Responsibility for country wide route planning and scheduling of vehicles ensuring efficiency and cost effective planning at all times.
Possess an appreciation and understanding of legal aspects of driving legislation, Tacho graphs/driving hours and ADR knowledge desirable.
Be the first point of contact for customer queries relating to scheduled deliveries/ collections and reservations which are current and yet to be booked ensure the effective resolution of queries both verbally and in writing via email.
Possess hands on experience of working with Logistics database systems to enabling Job scheduling, vehicle tracking and route planning.
Ensuring the accurate completion and preparation of driver scheduling and delivery documentation in accordance with company and legislation requirements.
Ensuring all subcontract and internal vehicles are weighed off on the weighbridge and related documentation is completed.
Ensure all vehicles undertake scheduled service intervals and MOT’s in conjunction with the vehicle maintenance department
Necessary Experience
Minimum 2 years previous experience working in a transport or logistics function environment.
Excellent customer service skills
Comfortable working in an environment that can be pressurised at times.
Minimum education to GCSEs (minimum of Grade C in Maths and English) would prefer higher level qualifications.
Necessary Skills/Abilities
Well organised and capable of planning and prioritising tasks based on business need
Analytical and a problem solver
Computer Skills- minimum basic level in Microsoft office/Excel ideally intermediate level
Good verbal and written communications skills also possessing an excellent telephone manner.
Flexible in attitude and approach with a calm manner
Hours of work
35 hours per week plus overtime
Monday to Friday bewteen 6.00 am and 6.00pm (To be confirmed)
