Position Overview:

The Transformation Office Programme Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and orchestrating the strategic transformation initiatives of an organization. This role involves providing visionary leadership, driving the overall program strategy, and ensuring the successful execution of complex initiatives that lead to organizational growth, agility, and optimization. The Programme Director will work closely with executive stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external partners to align transformation efforts with the organization's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transformation Strategy and Vision:
    • Develop a deep understanding of the organization's strategic objectives and overarching transformation goals.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the strategic vision, objectives, and key performance indicators.
    • Shape and communicate a clear and inspiring narrative that highlights the value of the transformation efforts across the organization.
  • Programme Leadership and Oversight:
    • Lead and manage a team of Programme Managers and other relevant personnel, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, ensuring that each programme's objectives are aligned with the broader transformation strategy.
    • Establish frameworks for decision-making, risk management, and issue resolution across all initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with executive stakeholders, department heads, and external partners to ensure alignment and support for transformation efforts.
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring effective communication and coordination among teams to achieve goals.
    • Represent the Transformation Office in meetings with C-suite executives, presenting progress updates and addressing strategic questions.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop a holistic roadmap for initiatives, considering dependencies, resource allocation, timelines, and potential risks.
    • Monitor and track the execution of programmes, regularly assessing progress against milestones and KPIs.
    • Anticipate potential challenges and adjust strategies as needed to ensure successful delivery and desired outcomes.
  • Change Management and Cultural Alignment:
    • Design and implement change management strategies to support the adoption of new processes, technologies, and cultural shifts.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning, encouraging innovation and adaptation within the organization.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Prepare and deliver high-impact presentations and updates to executive leadership, the board of directors, and other key stakeholders.
    • Develop comprehensive reports that provide insights into programme progress, challenges, and the overall impact of transformation initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience (ideally 10+ years) in senior programme management, transformation leadership, or strategic roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of project and programme management methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and the capability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated expertise in change management and organizational transformation.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or similar are highly desirable.

Location

In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in early 2025 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
