The Transformation Delivery Director, Data Services primarily supports the ‘Protect’ pillar of the strategy.
Success is defined by the effective management of data risk in the banks processes and services that support customers, risk and financial management and key controls and reports. This will be achieved through elevating prioritization and planning to a Group and Global level and making full use of the banks Data Utility and Policy.
Key priorities include:
- Developing and executing plans to implement data controls that address operational risk caused by data
- Aligning investment in controls in regions, businesses and functions to strategy and risk appetite
- Ensuring that process and tooling support control design and operation
- Establishing and maintaining effective change governance and stakeholder engagement
- Building an effective team and operating model in a Utility model with Agile Ways of Working
- Driving the adoption of HSBC project standards and work in alignment with HSBC transformation methodology at all times
- Being accountable for effective transformation framework methodology deployment across HSBC
- Supporting effective portfolio, programme and project risk management through the implementation of the HSBC transformation framework
- Providing inputs to senior management to allow portfolio risks and issues to be addressed
- Representing the bank to key external stakeholders, including Regulators
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders internally & externally to ensure the portfolio is reported accurately and with insight, to ensure appropriate management action
The role will have internal and external stakeholders and direct and indirect reports
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Experience of leading change delivery teams within a Data or Tech environment
- Understanding of the change delivery lifecycle and related governance standards
- High attention to detail, with an ability to anticipate and navigate challenges
- Understanding of retail financial service industry
- Exceptional ability to communicate across all levels
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring buy in and engagement
- Political awareness, strong facilitation and negotiation skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
