Job description
The post holder will be an integral part of the Transactional Finance Team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. The Team has primary responsibility for the prompt and accurate generation and payment of invoices, liaising with NHS Shared Business Services, and the provision of a cashier function to departments, colleagues and patients. The Transactional Finance Assistant will work under the supervision of the Deputy Transactional Finance Manager and closely with the other Assistants to deliver an effective service and high quality support to the wider Finance and Procurement division at the Trust.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and enthusiastically to complete a broad and variable range of tasks as directed and agreed by the Deputy Transactional Finance Manager:
- Coding purchase invoices and credit notes then sending for authorisation
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes
- Responding to queries from Suppliers, customers, NHS Shared Business Services, colleagues by email, telephone and letter
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Provide relief cover for the Cashier which includes handling of cash, banking and reconciling income and dealing with enquiries
- Assist with the NHS agreement of balances exercises
