About the Company:
I am delighted to be working on an exiting retained assignment, supporting PD Ports with the appointment of a Continuous Improvement Manager due to internal promotion!

Purpose of the Role
To co-ordinate and drive Continuous Improvement activities across all PD Ports sites. To assist in the delivery of Operational improvements using recognised Continuous Improvement methods to help create a standardised structure, visibility of improvements and sharing of best practice.
To drive a cultural change towards process improvements and to develop a mindset amongst teams where questioning the ‘as is’ becomes standard practice and the want to improve is a natural process.
To coach and develop teams to use standardised CI methodologies to approach improvements with a logical, measured manner.
To drive and encourage the use of Data to validate decision making.
Responsibilities
- Work with divisional Operational leads to identify opportunities for process improvements. Support business areas, through Operational involvement and observation, identifying potential Continuous Improvement projects/activities.
- Assist in the creation of a framework for the Continuous Improvement and Operational teams to work within.
- Train, coach & mentor the local Operational teams to develop structure and to embed standard CI methodologies.
- Lead teams to evaluate processes, and identify areas for improvement, using Continuous Improvement tools to ensure effective assessments, diagnoses, and continued monitoring (DMAIC).
- Lead key local DMAIC projects, working closely with other CI team members.
- Communicate with employees, and other CI Managers, to understand further areas of improvement and any issues on site that may be hindering performance.
- Contribute and promote the sharing of best practice.
- Assist in the development, and maintenance, of standard KPIs and scorecards to concisely report on progress of improvements – feeding these into, and making them a key part of, the monthly review process.
- Engaging with employees in all areas, training and coaching them in new ways of thinking and working, using strong communications, tailored to specific audiences, when implementing process changes to create high levels of engagement and change acceptance.
Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Qualification (Green Belt and above Ideally)
- Lean Manufacturing / Methodology experience.
- Experience delivering projects using DMAIC methodology
