The role
We are seeking a talented payroll communicator to join our Digital Learning team to assist us with our ongoing commitment to educating the next generation of payrollers.
In the role of a Learning Developer at CIPP, you will be responsible for creating, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting payroll-related eLearning products (predominantly our digital qualifications).
You should have a strong understanding of payroll and be comfortable working in an agile environment. Ideally, you will possess eLearning software skills and a rounded understanding of product development.
Key Responsibilities
As a Learning Developer, your role is crucial in designing and developing effective learning programs. Your principal accountabilities are:
- Content Development: You will be responsible for creating engaging and relevant learning content that aligns with the educational objectives. This involves designing instructional materials including eLearning modules, training videos, job aids, and interactive activities.
- Curriculum Design: You will collaborate with Course Material Authors (CMAs) and stakeholders to define learning objectives and structure effective learning solutions.
This involves mapping out the learning journey, sequencing modules, and courses, and ensuring a logical flow of information to facilitate effective knowledge acquisition.
- Instructional Design: You will apply instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create impactful learning experiences. This includes selecting appropriate instructional strategies, designing assessments to measure learning outcomes, and incorporating multimedia elements to enhance learner engagement and retention in collaboration with our Instructional Designers.
- Maintain eLearning Products: Update and maintain existing payroll-related eLearning courses and materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and compliance with legislation and industry standards. Incorporate feedback and improvements based on user evaluations and evolving learning needs.
- Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with CMAs, Instructional Designers, product owners, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, create content, and implement. Participate in agile development processes and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Ensure Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks and testing of eLearning products to ensure functionality, usability, and adherence to established standards. Address any identified issues promptly and implement necessary improvements.
- Understand Product Development and Life Cycle: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the product development process and product life cycle. Contribute to defining product requirements, planning releases, and managing product updates to meet organisational goals.
- Utilise eLearning Software: Work with various authoring tools, our learning management systems (LMS), and stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in the eLearning field.

Skills and Experience
Necessary
- CIPP qualified, or equivalent
- Instructional Design / Learning Development qualified, or equivalent
- Articulate 360, or equivalent
- Proven payroll communication experience
- Proof reading/editorial skills (articles, training courses, presentations)
- Excellent levels of IT literacy
- The ability to:
- Communicate complex payroll content in simple terms (good quality writing skills)
- Liaise with key people, whether interested internal parties or external suppliers
- Deal accurately with day-to-day important and often urgent details, while not losing sight of the overall job purpose
- Possess drive, determination, and resilience
- High-quality oral communication skills
- Common sense and a good sense of humour
Desirable
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat DC/PRO)
- Design and delivery of effective payroll assessment tools
- Working knowledge of formative and summative assessment strategy

Terms and Conditions:
Working week 37 hour working week (full-time)
