Overview of Role
This is a key role in enabling the future development of our talented team within our business. Everything we do is based on our people, and we want to bring in the best recruits, and give the whole team the best training we can to ensure we continue to lead the industry and deliver projects that are safe, functional, and efficient.
This role will be to work with the People Team to manage our team’s training pathway ensuring they feel well supported, organise work shadowing, assessments and mentors from our existing team, ensuring positive relations are maintained at all times. The role will also need to organise external training schemes to bolster what we can offer, to bring in outside experts where needed, and to manage the individuals progress through these courses.
Development and implementation of a mandatory CPD scheme will also be a key component for everyone in the team, as will keeping all training up to date, relevant and presented as best we can. You will evaluate learning interventions, using the information to refine our offering.
Team leaders will remain the line managers for the individuals involved but you will be the primary focus for ensuring the correct training is undertaken, to the highest quality, in the right timescales and to the satisfaction of all concerned.
This role supports the design, delivery, and embedding of training to meet the learning and development requirements for the team.
Principal responsibilities
Getting new people to the right level of competency.- Ensuring people undertake compulsory CPD to continue to demonstrate competency.
- Enabling people’s development both within their role and for promotion.
- Ensure training scheme is kept up to date.
- Develop the existing training schemes to make them more user friendly, efficient, and effective.
- Assist in developing new training schemes and modules.
- Ensure feedback is gathered from trainers and trainees.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
Person specification
Essential requirements:
Solid experience in a similar/relevant role.- CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience).
- Strong, positive communication and presentation skills.
- Creative thinking.
- People person.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Optimistic outlook with an elevated level of integrity and ethics.
- Multi-tasking team player with the ability to work alone and use initiative.
- Reliable, with a friendly and helpful approach.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Fluent English (spoken, written and comprehension).
Desirable requirements: will be accomplished in working collaboratively, with experience in coordinating and developing training plans / programmes. Experience working within Engineering/Design Engineering/Fire Engineering a distinct advantage.
What we offer
We offer an excellent salary up to £45,000 depending on experience with generous holiday entitlement. You will be working 37.5 hours per week (Monday- Friday) however, our flexible working policy will allow you to vary your day and suit the demands of everyday life.
