Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) is the major force in raising the standards of animal welfare across the sector. One fundamental aspect of this is the ADCH Minimum Welfare and Operational Standards, which form the basis of Membership, and decisions on admission of new Members.
Assessments are carried out by Volunteers from across Britain and Ireland, most of whom have worked, or currently work, for existing Member organisations and have significant animal welfare knowledge.
The purpose of this role is to help develop our assessment process, particularly through improved induction and ongoing training as well as the effective recruitment and mentoring of new Volunteer Assessors, working with the Standards and Operations Officer.
The Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) is the leading representative charity for dog and cat rescue and rehoming organisations across 8 jurisdictions in the British Isles. Operating across England, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, the ADCH promotes best practice in animal welfare for dogs and cats.
The ADCH has a superb ethos of people and charities working together to help one another for the benefit of dogs and cats. Membership has been growing rapidly and we now have over 160 Member organisations. Members encompass charities of all sizes, from the smallest to the largest, plus some Individual members, so the number of people involved measures many thousands.
