We are looking for a learning and development trainer to join our award-winning care team. In this rewarding role you will positively influence the professional development of others, delivering face-to-face classroom training for carers joining both Oxford Aunts and The Good Care Group. Overview of the role:

Reporting to our Training Manager, you’ll be part of a small team of in-house trainers who deliver training to our Professional Carers, equipping them with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation needed to provide outstanding care to our clients. You’ll also be responsible for some management of distance learning for our care teams. This is a face to face training role, where you will be working in our brand new office in Eynsham, Oxford. There will also be some travel to our London office (expenses paid).

You will also be responsible for:

  • Delivering mandatory and advanced learning opportunities to equip our teams to meet the demands of their role
  • Offering support and guidance to learners, monitoring the completion of training requirements and ensuring the highest levels of compliance

We are looking for:

Essential

  • Experience delivering training, ideally within a health or social care environment
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experiencing delivering and overseeing training using a range of different formats (face-to-face, distance learning, eLearning)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of best practice regarding learning and training styles
  • Working knowledge of the health and social care sector
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and plan own time effectively
  • Experiencing using a coaching approach to support and mentor others
  • Confident with use of technology and eager to learn new technological solutions/ functionality in the role.
  • A willingness to gain qualifications or certifications in relevant topics including (but not limited to) first aid, moving and handling, dementia care, medication

Desirable

  • A recognised qualification in training
  • Qualified first aid trainer
  • Experience delivering training to care workers
  • Experience working in social care
  • Additional qualifications or experience relating to dementia care, moving and handling, first aid, moving and handling, medication
  • Experience in having managing difficult conversations with learners and/or in a workplace setting
