Role responsibilities
The Driver and Operations trainer is responsible for the provision of operations training activities for train drivers and associated operations roles.
- Design, deliver and update appropriate training programmes which meet regulatory, safety and industry standards
- Evaluation of all training and development activities carried out within this role in order to ensure compliance and continuous development of the courses and Programmes we offer.
- Provide assessment and verification services to support the driver function and within awarding body standards
- Support the Operations Training Manager in identifying suitable Driver training providers to ensure they meet the required standard
- Work closely with the Operational Standards team to ensure that driver training is updated and reflects business risks
Who we’re looking for
- Holds Driver Competency
- Experience of designing, delivering, evaluating and reviewing training material.
- Computer literate in key Office 365 applications
- Holds or willing to work towards NVQ Level 3 in Learning & Development (or equivalent)
- Holds or willing to work towards an assessor qualification – TAQA Level 3 (or equivalent)
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
