An exciting opportunity exists for a Driver Trainer within UK Gases.
Primary Responsibilities of Position / Roles:
As a Driver Trainer you will report to the Head of HESQ and be responsible for the training of drivers who are employed by Nippon Gases or drive via external hauliers. Including HGV’s, company vehicles, forklift trucks.
Set up Company procedures and give drivers the required training in line with the Nippon Gases standards.
Take into account all safety aspects related to transport , for example, ADR regulations, driver's manual.
Required to liaise with the Fleet Manager to improve the fleet in line with HSE standards and best practice.
Responsible for the investigation and reporting of HSEQ events and incidents.
Regular checks to ensure drivers for safe working and the following procedures (spot checks) and take appropriate tests of newly trained drivers.
Conducting pre-start audits and inspections at proposed new sites
Responsible for organising drugs and alcohol tests in line with company policy
Review and development of all driving manuals and related documentation
Responsible for implementation and administration of Driving Monitor
In conjunction with the Logistics Manager, monitor and review tachograph and MIX telemetry data as appropriate
Job requirements
Required Education & Experience:
Experienced transport professional with 5 years in a similar role
Class 1 HGV licence holder
Experienced Forklift licence holder, ideally with experience of training others.
Clean driving licence
You must be prepared to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland
Competencies
Technical competencies:
All round transport knowledge.
Good Knowledge of Office 365
Trainer the trainer qualification is desirable but not essential
Health & Safety qualification is desirable but not essential
Personal competencies:
Given the frequent contacts with customers and drivers, good communication skills are essential
A team player who is flexible and adaptable.
You like to work independently, are pro-active, like to take the initiative and have a strong organisational talent.
