Job description
This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, professional individual qualified in an appropriate discipline to join the College to provide training on Education and Early Years courses. The primary focus will be training and assessing on early years and teaching assistant courses alongside playing a main role within the new T Level Education and Early Years, programme of study for young people.
The ideal candidate will be required to co-ordinate assessment activities in groups and one-to-one training. To plan and deliver assessment on college and school/nursery premises to exceptionally high standards. You will also assess learners’ portfolios and internally verify early years and/or teaching assistant programmes to level 3.
You will need to have:
- Appropriate vocational experience and minimum qualification level 3 early years/teaching assistant
- Experience of working in the early years sector/school environment
- D32, D33/A1 Vocational Assessor and/or TAQA - Award in Understanding the Principles and Practice of Assessment at Level 3
- D34/V1 Internal Verifier qualifications and/or TAQA - Award and Certificate in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
- Have the ability to work effectively with learners of all ages in various learning environments
- Be flexible, innovative and possess excellent communication skills
- Good ICT skills to use an electronic portfolio/Teams to track and monitor the learners’ assessment and progress
You will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. You will possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to incisively demonstrate achievement of targets and goals.
Successful candidates may also be required to deliver a training session in the evening (term time) and to be available across different days/times of the week, to meet the needs of learners.
